Steven Gary Smith — 57 — of Atlantic City passed away Thursday April 1, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Steve was born August 30, 1963, in Reno Nevada, where he attended school. He later moved to New Jersey, graduating from Ocean City High School in 1981. After graduation Steve worked at The Claridge Casino in Atlantic City as a waiter at The Garden Room for more than 30 years. Most recently he waitered at The Ruba, at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City.
During his leisure time Steve enjoyed fishing, sporting events, western movies and listening to rock n’ roll music. Steve was a connoisseur of 70’s classic rock. His greatest love however was his cats. He was a loving owner of many throughout his life. Most importantly, Steve was a great friend. All who knew him considered him one of the kindest people they’d ever met. He left us timeless memories that we will cherish.
Steve was predeceased by his father Gary Smith from Southern California. He is survived by his stepmother Heidi Smith of Southern California, one stepbrother also from Southern California, one stepsister of Michigan and his beloved cat Ms. Fiona — who I am delighted to say has been adopted by a loving family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at The Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Mays Landing N.J.
